This presentation's mission is to provide holistic, non-medical, emotional, spiritual, and practical support for the dying and their families. Learn from North Dakota's only registered Death Midwife. In this lecture you will learn the following:
•Learn tools and techniques for midwifing the dying
-Understand the differences between Policy and Law with the Funeral Industry
-The Funeral Industry and know what to look for in price gouging
•Consider family dynamics that occur as someone dies
•Experience the practice of dying; visioning our own death before we die
We will have a short meditation to go through the process of dying for better understanding of ourselves, our loved one who is going through it and our families. This Lecture is intended to educate as well as put the Home Funeral Movement back into our own hands. Due to the sensitive nature of this workshop, you may bring your own tissues, pillow and blanket for the meditation portion. All things discussed together will be considered of a private nature and will not be disclosed to the public unless prior permission is granted.
On the Ballroom Dance Floor - be prepared to move!
Absolute beginners are welcome to come and experience the joy of walking, hopping and skipping to the rhythms of Nordic folk music. The schottische and the polka are two very common folk dances with variants all over Europe and Mexico. We will experience a basic lesson in each dance form as individual, paired, and group dancers. The class is taught with gender-free terminology and by using rune postures to anchor the body!
Do you have a book that you believe is amazing? Does self publishing intrigue you?
There are currently a ton of tools out there to help you publish your own book, but none of them inform you about the ins and outs of self-publishing or how to be successful at it.
When you take this workshop, you will not only learn how to self-publish a book (including learning about all of the different platforms), but we will help you set attainable goals, show you how you should set up your branding, what to do during dreaded tax season, figure out if you need a barcode or ISBN, how to market your book, and much more.
We also talk about some of the unique challenges that Pagan authors can face.
Self-Publishing your work can be very intimidating, but the rewards in the end are worth it.
In most traditional cultures, the ancestors and heroes are honored as guardians of the living. In Wicca we have the Mighty Dead and in Heathenry the altar and disir. In America, the monuments on the Capitol Mall honor some of those who set forth the ideals of liberty, equality and justice for all in this land. For over two centuries, other heroes and heroines have worked to expand and apply those ideals and understand what they truly mean. They were not perfect—neither are we— but they wait to work with us to defend the rights they fought for. In this ritual we will call on them and invoke their inspiration and their power.
